This has proven to be a life-saving preventative from coccidia for my puppies! I purchased it the first time 3 yrs ago and now is outdated, so I need to purchase another one, which I am very happy to do because it is well worth it. I share with all my b Review by Linda

I have been an AKC Breeder of Merit since 2011, and have been breeding and exhibiting first Boston Terriers, then French Bulldogs, since 1970 in the U.S. Coccidia is an ever-present danger to young puppies; despite the "gospel" from the vets and in the "literature", it is not always due to an "unclean environment", unless you group "Mother Nature" into that category! We, as breeders, do the very best for our babies! So, when I heard from a wonderful breeder friend in Canada about this BAYCOX made by BAYER company (with which I was very familiar), being used successfully as a preventative for coccidiosis on her puppies (also French Bulldogs), I was over the moon with excitement!! I decided to get it. Contacted my vet--not available in the U.S. (not approved by our FDA)! When the LIVES OF MY BABIES are at stake, all rules go out the window; I had previously purchased excellent merchandise from VetProductsDirect some years before, so checked with them and they had it available! Aussie friends to the Rescue!!! Thank you so much!!! As my Canadian breeder friend had advised, I ordered the Baycox Piglet 5%, as that was what could be used on puppies. The dosage and protocol are as follows: 0.18cc/lb or 0.396cc/kg - given orally at 4 weeks, 6 weeks and 8 weeks. The weight and dosage must be precise, you cannot risk an overdose. Also, the Baycox is extremely BITTER, so after I draw up the exact measurement I need for each puppy, I then draw up about 3-4 cc of Dyne, or something similar, that is VERY SWEET then draw up 2-3 cc of air and put your finger over the tip and shake the syringe to mix the solution together, so they will willingly take the medication and not fight it and risk aspirating it and dying (I had that happen once). Since I've started this protocol I've NEVER had an incidence of cocci, nor have any of my clients after they've taken a puppy home! (Posted on 12/14/2016)
